Fighter

Slow as a snail might 

He learned how to fight 

Ego clouded his mind 

The heart stayed kind 

Walked out with life 

Returned with half of a knife 

Blood caked his body foul 

Everyone missed the tears on his soul

Tears fell as rain from the clouds

Just as they did from the crowds 

Moan they did out loud 

He ended covered in a shroud

Iron machinery human flesh 

Sparks amongst the living 

Iron heart human flesh 

Beats amongst the living 

Heat of the sun touching the flesh 

Scorching in the warmth 

Heat of the water touching the flesh 

Cooling in the warmth 

Sweat forming on the flesh 

Working hard in the world 

Sweat forming money from flesh 

Family living safe in the world

He stared up at the glittering buildings 

Around him numerous, in tens and hundreds

He stared down at his feet and shoes 

The metal bars below numerous, in tens and hundreds

He stared at the straps on his body and clothes 

The chains at his soul numerous, in tens and hundreds

He felt the fierce and loud sun and his powerful stares

The floors beside him numerous, as he falls, in tens and hundreds

He felt the sand through the helmet and hairs 

The thoughts in his head singular, not in tens and hundreds

As the moon shines bright

My heart stirs in fright 

Tomorrow brings with it a new fight 

But hope will set everything right 

Going away from me in a flight 

My heart does so clench tight 

Look on does my mind in might 

Fly alongside her does my heart as a kite 

Eventually our paths change left and right 

Disappear does she from my sight 

But I smile for everyone to see bright

Looking at the dawn looking for light

Bound by the shackles I created 

Doomed to carry them forever 

A lone man, a sad soul cheated

Out of rebirth, repentance however 

Disappear does many chains once linked

The Rain Man

I saw you on that fine morning, sitting below that tree, all alone.
I came to you, talked to you. You were glad to make a new friend... Me too.
Then I started feeling something, something I tried to control. Maybe you noticed it... Maybe you didn't.
You play along... Then you feign interest. Then you drop your bag of insecurities on me and run away.
I'm left alone, standing in this rain, holding your baggage . And I see your shadow, far away, under an umbrella.
As I move closer, I see another shape with you under the umbrella. And you turn and tell me... 'Keep the baggage' and walk away.
